Two Wins at Snetterton Secure GTH Championship P2 Finish for Jolt Racing
Jolt Racing brought its 2026 GT Cup Championship campaign to a successful conclusion at Snetterton, claiming two GTH victories during a dramatic season finale and securing second place in the overall class standings.
John Ingram and Aaron Cooke arrived in Norfolk with the #37 McLaren Artura GT4 holding a slender advantage in the battle for second in GTH. With only one point separating Jolt Racing from its nearest championship rival before the weekend, every qualifying position and race result mattered.
Cooke immediately demonstrated the McLaren’s pace during Saturday morning’s qualifying session. He secured second in GTH, missing pole position by only 0.168 seconds and placing Jolt Racing on the front row of the class grid. The weather then created chaos before the opening sprint had even begun. Rain started falling during the formation lap, prompting Cooke to bring the car into the pits for a change of tyres rather than risk starting on slicks in worsening conditions. The decision meant giving up the front-row starting position and beginning the race from the pit lane.
In a cruel twist, the rain then stopped and the circuit quickly began to stabilise. Cooke ultimately started from the pit lane on slick tyres anyway, leaving him at the back of the field with significant ground to recover. He responded with a determined drive through the field, recovering to fourth in GTH and salvaging valuable championship points from a race that could easily have caused serious damage to Jolt Racing’s title position.
The team regrouped for Saturday afternoon’s 50-minute pit-stop race, confident that the pace shown in qualifying had not yet been reflected in the result. Cooke delivered a fast and controlled opening stint, moving the McLaren into the GTH lead before handing the car to Ingram during the mandatory pit stop. Ingram maintained the advantage throughout the second half of the race but came under intense pressure from the chasing Innovation Racing Ginetta. With almost nothing separating the two cars at the finish, he held his nerve and took the chequered flag just 0.163 seconds ahead.
The victory placed the #37 car fourth overall and provided a crucial points boost in the battle for second in the championship.
Sunday began with Jolt Racing qualifying third in GTH. The opening pit-stop race proved more challenging, with Ingram and Cooke battling through a closely matched class field to finish fifth. Although it was not the result the team had hoped for, the points kept Jolt Racing firmly in contention ahead of the final sprint of the season.
Cooke lined up third in GTH and ninth overall for the championship’s last race. He produced one of Jolt Racing’s strongest performances of the year, gaining six overall positions while taking control of the class contest. After 25 minutes of racing, Cooke crossed the line first in GTH and an outstanding third overall. He finished 2.260 seconds ahead of the next GTH car to secure Jolt Racing’s second victory of the weekend and complete the season in emphatic style.
The finale encapsulated the character of Jolt Racing’s campaign: strong qualifying pace, bold strategic decisions, close racing and the determination to recover when circumstances went against the team.
Two victories from four races at Snetterton followed the team’s double win at Brands Hatch, giving Jolt Racing four GTH victories across the final eight races of the season.
The weekend’s results confirmed the #37 Jolt Racing McLaren as runner-up in the 2026 GTH Championship with 329 points. After entering the finale just one point ahead of third place, Jolt Racing ultimately secured second in the standings by 15 points.
From the chaos of Saturday’s rain to a victory decided by 0.163 seconds and a commanding win in the final race, Snetterton provided a fitting conclusion to Jolt Racing’s 2026 campaign and a strong platform for the team’s expanded racing plans in 2027.
