Jolt Racing Plans McLaren Trophy Expansion for 2027
Jolt Racing is planning an exciting expansion of its racing programme for 2027, with the British team targeting an entry into McLaren Trophy Europe alongside its established GT Cup Championship campaign.
The proposed programme would represent an important next step in Jolt Racing’s development, taking the team into international competition at some of Europe’s most prestigious circuits while maintaining its existing presence in the UK.
Jolt Racing intends to continue competing in the GT Cup Championship with its McLaren Artura GT4, building upon the experience and podium results achieved during its 2026 campaign. Alongside that programme, the team is now developing plans to enter a dedicated McLaren Artura Trophy Evo in the 2027 McLaren Trophy Europe season.
McLaren Trophy Europe is the manufacturer’s flagship one-make GT championship. All competitors race the 585PS Artura Trophy Evo, with its enhanced aerodynamics and strategic push-to-pass system capable of temporarily increasing power to 620PS.
The championship provides almost five hours of track time at each event, culminating in two 50-minute races with mandatory pit stops and driver changes. Competition is divided into Pro, Pro-Am and Am categories, creating opportunities for drivers with a range of experience and ambitions.
The five-round 2027 calendar will begin at Circuit Paul Ricard in April before visiting Le Mans, Misano, Zandvoort and Barcelona.
The Le Mans event will form the centrepiece of the season, with McLaren Trophy Europe racing on the full Circuit de la Sarthe during the week of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The occasion will coincide with McLaren’s return to the top category of the legendary endurance race with its new Hypercar programme, creating a landmark celebration of the marque’s motorsport heritage and future.

“Expanding into McLaren Trophy Europe is a natural and very exciting next step for Jolt Racing. We have continued to strengthen the team through our GT Cup and British GT programmes, and we now believe the time is right to explore a return to European competition.
“The 2027 calendar is exceptional. Racing at circuits such as Paul Ricard, Misano, Zandvoort and Barcelona would be a fantastic opportunity, but competing at Le Mans during the week of the 24 Hours would undoubtedly be one of the defining moments in the team’s history.
“Our intention is to retain our GT Cup programme while creating an additional European operation around the Artura Trophy Evo. This would allow us to offer drivers two distinct routes within Jolt Racing: a highly competitive UK programme and a manufacturer-supported European championship at some of the world’s greatest circuits.”
The expansion would further strengthen Jolt Racing’s relationship with McLaren Customer Racing and build upon the team’s experience operating the Artura platform in both GT Cup and British GT competition.
Planning for the 2027 programme is now under way, with Jolt Racing inviting discussions with drivers and commercial partners interested in joining the team for its proposed McLaren Trophy Europe campaign.
