Jolt Racing Opens 2026 GT Cup Campaign with Donington Podiums

Jolt Racing began its 2026 GT Cup Championship campaign with an encouraging double podium at Donington Park, as John Ingram and Rupert Williams returned to the series in the team’s #37 McLaren Artura GT4.

The opening round on 11–12 April presented the usual endurance-focused format, comprising a 50-minute pit-stop race on Saturday followed by the first 100-minute GT Cup contest of the season on Sunday.

Changing conditions made Saturday morning’s qualifying particularly challenging, but Jolt Racing produced a composed performance to secure third place among a highly competitive GTH field.

Williams and Ingram carried that momentum into the opening race. A consistent drive, supported by a well-executed pit stop from the Jolt Racing crew, brought the McLaren home third in GTH and secured the team’s first silverware of the 2026 season.

Sunday’s GT Cup 100 provided a considerably greater test of endurance. The race began in damp conditions and demanded patience, careful tyre management and consistency from both drivers as the track evolved.

The #37 McLaren remained firmly in contention throughout the 100-minute encounter. Ingram and Williams successfully negotiated the changing conditions and sustained pressure of the longer race to cross the line second in GTH, completing an impressive double podium for Jolt Racing on its return to full-season GT Cup competition.

It was a particularly positive opening weekend in a class dominated by several well-established Ginetta G56 entries. The McLaren Artura demonstrated its competitiveness across both race formats, while the drivers and team delivered the consistency required to begin the championship with two strong results.

With valuable points and two trophies secured, Jolt Racing left Donington Park encouraged by its early pace and with a solid foundation from which to build during the remainder of the season.
