A Weekend of Progress and Promise for Jolt Racing at Snetterton

Jolt Racing continued their 2025 British GT campaign with a determined showing at Snetterton, fielding the McLaren Artura GT4 with drivers John Ingram and Rupert Williams.

Following an intensive testing programme in the run-up to the weekend, including multiple sessions at Snetterton itself, the team arrived well prepared and eager to continue their progress.

Friday’s official test sessions were held in scorching Norfolk heat, giving the team a valuable chance to build on the groundwork of their earlier tests.

Saturday began with free practice and pre-qualifying in front of the British GT crowds. Williams, continuing to build confidence in the car which has been new to the team this season, made impressive strides with his lap times.

That afternoon’s qualifying was split into two sessions. Williams went out first in Q1 and delivered a clean run, securing P9 in GT4 for Sunday’s opening sprint. Ingram took the wheel for Q2 but faced a more challenging session. His first lap was deleted for track limits, an issue affecting much of the field. During his second flying lap the session was red flagged, leaving just one final attempt once running resumed, and placing him P8 in GT4 overall.

Sunday’s first sprint race saw Williams take the start from P9. He settled into a rhythm and handed over to Ingram at the halfway driver change. Ingram then brought the car home cleanly in P9 overall in the GT4 class.

Race two held more promise, with Ingram starting P7 on the GT4 grid. Unfortunately, the race ended in disappointment. On the opening lap Ingram was tapped on the rear, sending the #37 McLaren into a spin and causing damage which forced the team to retire.

Despite the setback, the weekend was marked by clear progress for the Jolt Racing squad. Both Ingram and Williams posted personal best times at Snetterton and continued their development in the highly competitive British GT field.

Commenting on the weekend, John Ingram said: “It was disappointing to see race two end earlier, but that’s part of racing sometimes. Overall, I think we can be really encouraged by how much progress we made. The car felt flawless all weekend and it gives us a strong platform to build on for the next round.”

Rupert Williams added: “I’m really happy with the steps forward we made this weekend. Qualifying was a highlight, and there’s a lot we can take from this weekend as we keep pushing forward.”
