Jolt Academy – Supporting Future Motorsport Engineers

Jolt Racing is proud to launch the Jolt Motorsport Academy supporting ‘Motorsport Engineers of the Future’ enabling motorsport students to develop their essential skills and knowledge, developing their passion for STEM subjects. The Jolt Motorsport Academy programme gives a small number of motorsport students access to real-world experience under the direction and supervision of our race team personnel. Jolt offers students access to a wealth of motorsport experience personnel across a dedicated crew of race engineers, data engineers, mechanics, technicians, performance engineers and race-team support personnel.

Our programme is led by Ryan Stutchbury who brings huge motorsport experience to the Jolt team, combining his practical experience from managing international GT and endurance race teams with academic experience having previously been the Senior Lecturer at Brooklands College, one of the leading motorsport engineering colleges. Ryan holds a BSc (Hons) in Motorsport Technology from Oxford Brookes University.

Jolt Motorsport Academy students receive the opportunity to participate with our race team across various trackside disciplines in the pit garage, pit lane and on the pit wall at race events and test days, giving them the confidence and skills needed to progress directly into future careers in the world of international motorsport.

Team principal, John Ingram, commented that the team is "delighted to be supporting motorsport engineers of the future by offering practical experience within a motorsport team on a vocational basis alongside acadamic studies. Our main objective is to assist our academy members to make the transition to a long term career within the motorsport industry, and that first step can sometimes be the most difficult to find".

The Jolt Motorsport Academy programme is fully subscribed for 2023 with motorsport students from Coventry University and Brooklands College.

For the 2024 motorsport season, the Jolt Motorsport Academywill extend the opportunity internationally with students in our programme supporting the Jolt race team running our Ligier JPS4 prototype in the Ligier European Series events alongside European Le Mans Series, as well as at endurance events in the United Arab Emirates.
